MEET THE ILC TEAM:
Rayna L. Bergerman
BA., B.Ed. (Master of Teaching),
C.C.C. (Certified Child Coach)
Owner, Academy Instructor & Youth Coach
Growing up in Calgary, Rayna struggled to feel inspired, fulfilled, and fully successful as a student. It wasn’t until her fifth year at The University of Calgary, while attending a Field School in Belize, that something suddenly changed. Selected on the basis of her personality strengths, and not just her academic standing, she was given the gift of finally discovering that she did indeed love Learning.
The difference? An experience tailored to WHO she was as a learner.
Rayna’s professor recognized her key strengths, gave her an opportunity that changed her life, and allowed her to feel successful as a student for the first time. This is what she now seeks to do for others through Inspired Learning Centres Canada Inc.
Rayna completed the Master of Teaching program at the University of Calgary in 2008, graduating at the top of her class and winning the Clarence Sansom Gold Medal for exceptional achievement. The inquiry based program once again allowed her to use her learning personality strengths to be successful. Her classroom teaching experiences have given her insights into how children learn best. Students under Rayna’s watchful eye have jumped 3 grade levels in 8 months, and have grown from timid and shy learners to risk-takers and bold public speakers and performers.
Rayna’s strengths lie in creating relationships, using her student’s personality strengths in Learning and tailoring curriculum tasks so that every child feels successful. She expects exceptional effort, critical thinking, and intentional decision making from each of her students, and they rise to the challenge every time!
Rayna is a Certified Child Coach, giving her the added edge of being able to work with kids of all ages through complex life issues such as bullying, divorce, death in the family and social anxiety, all of which can stand in the way of success. Her work in the field of personality and gender differences in learning will continue this upcoming summer as she has been invited to attend the Gurian Institute Summer Session and will receive her Trainer Certification.
What people are saying about Rayna...
"Rayna is an exceptional educator. She has the gift of being able to meet your child at the point they are in their Learning. She does not teach from a script but adapts the delivery of the information so that your child is able to receive the maximum benefit. If your child is unable to demonstrate their Learning in conventional methods, she allows them to show their Learning in a way the child feels successful and not segregated from the other students. Rayna challenges children to become the best they can be and your child believes they can. With this belief success is attained. She is a true educator as you can see the joy she gets from seeing a child develop and achieve success in their educational journey".
Andrea F. - Parent
"Rayna is very kind and fair to all the kids she works with. Our son felt he was given plenty of room to do his own things while she provided guidance along the way and listened to his ideas. He enjoyed her sense of humor and learning new things from her that must have taken a lot of time to research, on her own time. As a parent, I felt that Rayna was always positive in her attitude and never showed any discouragement when things got hectic. You always kept an open mind to my suggestions and provided honest opinions of my child".

Lynn Del Castilho B.A., B.Ed. (Master of Teaching)
Academy Program Design Specialist
Lynn was born and raised in Calgary. With the exception of a summer spent studying advanced level French as a Language Bursary student at Université Laval in Ste Foy, Quebec after high school, she has lived in Calgary all her life. After graduating with distinction with a B.A. in Communications Studies from the University of Calgary, Lynn worked on a number of local Special Events including the UofC 101 Program aimed at introducing new students to University life and studies. It was during this time that her skills at combining big picture and fine detail thinking truly came to the fore. She returned to the University of Calgary to complete the Master of Teaching and taught for five years at the elementary level in the French Immersion program.
University studies opened Lynn's eyes to the interconnectedness of all things; that an idea in one discipline can be linked in innumerable ways to seemingly unrelated ideas in other disciplines. As a teacher, she helped and pushed her students to find links between different subject areas; to see the creativity in scientific and mathematical thinking and the analytical mindset required to produce creative works.
As an Academy Specialist with Inspired Learning Centers Canada, Lynn thrives at generating stimulating and relevant project ideas for students eager and ready to extend their thinking beyond classroom learning.
